Visual Inspection

Check all connections (heating, DHW, electrical). Verify pipework is correct and secure. Ensure isolation valves, strainers, and filters are in place.

System Filling & Flushing

Fill the system with water and flush out debris to prevent blockages. Vent air from the system.

Power-Up & Safety Checks

Connect electrical supply. Test electrical safety features and connections. Confirm fault indicators and alarms work.

Temperature & Pressure Settings

Set correct operating temperatures for space heating and domestic hot water (DHW). Adjust pressure regulators and check expansion vessel charge.

Flow Rate Adjustments

Set and verify DHW and heating flow rates according to design specs. Balance the primary and secondary sides.

Control System Testing

Test thermostats, programmers, and sensors. Ensure communication with building management system (BMS) if applicable.

Performance Testing

Simulate demand for hot water and heating. Monitor response times and stability of temperatures.

Documentation Handover

Creating a detailed record of all commissioning activities, including test results, settings, and any identified issues.
